Eric Harlow has been an 818 fan for many years. With his extensive beer knowledge and beer sales experience with both distributors and in-house, he now brings the passion needed to head up communications and coordination for Des Moines Beer Week.

Q: Where were you born?
A: Goshen, New York
Q: How would your team describe you?
A: A fun loving perfectionist.
Q: What is your professional background?
A: I got my start in the beer industry with Doll Distributing before working at Ballast Point and, most recently, Summit Brewing Company.
Q: What areas of the beer industry are you most passionate about?
A: Outside of the actual Brewing of beer itself, probably sales and marketing.
Q: What is something you always carry with you?
A: Field notes and a pen.
Q: What accomplishment are you most proud of?
A: Finally getting to work with my best friends at 818!
Q: If you could learn one skill, what would it be?
A: Surfing
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: Longboard, read, watch movies, watch Arsenal, and go to breweries.
Q: What are you most excited about at 818?
A: I’m excited to help grow Des Moines Beer Week and I’m super excited that I get to do that while working alongside some of my best friends.
Q: What is your favorite dinosaur?
A: Velociraptor (especially the ones in Jurassic World).
